| While incredibly rewarding and worthwhile, adopting a cat is a serious decision. Before deciding to adopt, consider whether you are prepared to make a cat part of your home for its entire life. Hundreds of thousands of cats end up in shelters – and, thus, many are killed – every year because their human companions did not thoroughly consider the responsibilities associated with adoption.
Questions To Ask Yourself Before Adopting a Cat
All cats for adoption have been spayed or neutered (as is age appropriate), tested for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, treated with necessary flea and tick medication, received required vaccinations, and are up to date on any other specialized vet care. There is an $85 adoption fee which helps subsidize this care, as well as defray the costs of their basic daily needs. (These fees, however, only cover a fraction of the total costs accrued, especially given the large number of kitties with health challenges.)
If you have considered the questions listed above and are ready to move forward with adopting a cat, please email us at info@kitkatranch.org and we will happily send you an adoption application.
